Finance and Accounting Club of Brac University-Finact has arranged “Femfest 2022” to signify women empowerment in Bangladesh.
The event was held in the university auditorium from 8am to 5pm on Sunday, says a press release.
Dean of Brac Business School Dr Sang H Lee inaugurated the event along with other faculties of the university.
More than 15 businesses of women entrepreneurs participated in the event. They promoted and sold handcrafted items, boutiques, clothing, and beauty products at their stalls.
The owner of “The Backyard Bakery” said that it was an incredible arrangement from the club to highlight an essential bridge between women entrepreneurs and university students.
Besides, hundreds of students of Brac University visited the event and purchased items from the stalls.
Student Tanveer said that he was very delighted to greet the women entrepreneurs and discuss the challenges they faced during the early stage of their businesses.
According to Finact club, women empowerment is critical to achieving gender equality, where men and women have equal power and opportunities for education, healthcare, economic participation, and personal development.
This event was dedicated to encourage and celebrate the women entrepreneurs of the country, the release added.
