Shamima Nasrin, the former chairman of Evaly, has applied to the court-ordered board regarding the reopening of the infamous e-commerce company.
The senior advocate of the Supreme Court, Ahsanul Karim, filed the application on behalf of Shamima Nasrin on On Wednesday.
The same petition also sought the inclusion of Shamima, her mother and sister's husband on the Board of Directors of Evaly.
Besides, another application was filed in the High Court seeking order not to harass Evaly CEO Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima in any unnecessary cases.
On September 15 last year, an Evaly customer filed a case with Gulshan Police Station against Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, erstwhile chairman of Evaly, on allegations of fraud and embezzlement.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin in a raid of their residence in the capital's Mohammadpur area the day after the case was filed.
On December 15 last year, another businessman from Chittagong filed two cases against the Evaly CEO and chairman in the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain over cheque fraud.
On April 6, Rassel’s wife Shamima Nasrin, chairperson of Evaly, walked out of Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail after the court granted them both bail in six other cases on the condition of settling the cases with the plaintiffs in different times.
The owners of Evaly were allegedly involved in embezzlement of several hundred crores of Taka.
