Decisions on reducing office hours have not been made yet, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has said.

The government is set to take a decision on this after understanding the situation. If it is not required, everything will continue as normal, he said while talking to journalists at the secretariat on Thursday.

“It is not necessary to take that step if people can save electricity while managing their office hours. However, we have informed all concerned about the matter,” he added.

The government wants to continue all the activities while keeping a normal flow. So, for now, saving 25% energy or electricity will do, he added.

On Monday, State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid that one-hour nationwide load shedding will begin to minimize energy subsidies.

At that meeting, the minister also mentioned that regular office timings for government and private sectors may also be decreased, but the schedule was finalized at that time.
