Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) removed 75% sacrificial waste from its areas while Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) removed 80% waste on Sunday.
However, 17 wards under DSCC and 11 wards under DNCC managed to remove 100% of their waste, said a press release.
Mirpur, Mohakhali, Banani, Badda, Rampura, Gulistan, Kalabagan and Sciencelab and Agargaon areas of Dhaka's did not notice the sight of animal blood, dung, bones, skin and other remains lying in front of roads and residential buildings.
In these areas, city corporation workers, as well as locals, were seen taking part in clean-up activities.
Locals threw the blood of the animals into the drain through a pipe and filled the animal waste in bags and put it in the van of the city corporations.
Visiting the Banasree area of the capital, people were seen sprinkling water on the blood of slaughtered animals in front of the residential buildings.
Besides, the cleaning staff of both the corporations were also working in the field.
Earlier, DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said that the waste of sacrificial animals will be removed from the streets of Dhaka city within 12 hours.
On the other hand, the mayor of DSCC and the central control room are supervising the waste management activities.
