2 more Bangladeshi pilgrims die in Saudi Arabia

So far 28,309 Bangladeshis have reached Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage

Two more Bangladeshis who went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj have died in the Gulf country.

Dhaka resident Beauty Begum (passport number EA0009584) and Rangpur’s Md Abdul Jalil Khan (passport number BX0552614) died in Medina on Tuesday.

So far six pilgrims from Bangladesh have died in Saudi Arabia this year.

A total of 28,309 Bangladeshis have reached Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage, as of Tuesday.

This year’s first Hajj flight of the country left Dhaka on June 5.

Hajj is open to those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and are under the age of 65.

Last year only 58,745 pilgrims performed Hajj from across the world because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Before the pandemic some 2.5 million people used to travel to Saudi Arabia every year for Hajj.
