Update : 13 Jun 2022, 09:07 PM

A mild heatwave is sweeping through the districts of Khulna, Mongla, Satkhira, Jessore, Chuadanga, Kumarkhali, Rajshahi and Pabna.

The heatwave may continue, the weather department said on Monday.

The highest temperature today was recorded at 37.5℃ in Rajshahi and Chuadanga districts, while the minimum temperature was 21.5 ℃ in Rangpur’s Saidpur.

However, a reprieve from the summer heat is on the way in parts of the country.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted showers in the eight divisions in the next 24 hours.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the northern part of the country, it said.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged, the BMD added.
