Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the youngest daughter Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Sheikh Rehana have been included in the Tungipara upazila unit Awami League in Gopalganj.
Sheikh Hasina has been the first member of the executive committee, while Rehana was made the third member of the advisory council in the party’s unit at their hometown of Tungipara.
Gopalganj district unit’s General Secretary Mahbub Ali Khan announced the full-fledged 73-member committee at a press conference held at the party’s office on Monday.
Sheikh Kabir Hossain has been made the chief adviser of the committee and local MP Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim has been made the second member of the advisory council.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Helal Uddin, Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, and Sheikh Nadir Hossain Lipu are on the executive committee of the Tungipara upazila Awami League.
On February 13, 2020, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader named Sheikh Abul Bashar Khair as the president and Md Babul Sheikh as the general secretary of Tungipara upazila Awami League.
However, due to the pandemic, the committee could not be formed at that time.
