He traverses Jahangirnagar University campus, peddling his tea, and offering his earnings to his mother at the end of the day. They live in Ambagan, a locality adjacent to the campus. Abandoning his pursuit of education at a madrasa in Mymensingh, where the family hails from, Shahin earns a meagre income of Tk200 per day by selling tea. His father is a rickshaw-puller in JU while the mother works as a househelp in Savar.
