Sylhet road crash: Case filed against two drivers

Currently, the two drivers are absconding

A case has been filed against two drivers in connection with the collision between a truck and a pickup van in Sylhet's Dakshin Surma Nazirbazar in which 14 people were killed. 

South Surma police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) (Investigation) Abul Hossain confirmed the information at 1am on Thursday. 

Ijazul of Bhatipara in Dirai has filed the case as the plaintiff. Currently, the two drivers are absconding.

Police are continuing to trace the owner of the vehicle using the number plate.

Among the 14 people killed in Sylhet on Wednesday morning were nine from Dirai, three from Dakshin Sunamganj, one from Netrakona and one worker from Habiganj. 

The OC said that the accident took place on an empty road. It is assumed that the truck driver was sleeping.
