Update : 03 Jun 2023, 08:12 PM

An expatriate hailing from Sunamganj's Chhatak upazila has been killed by unidentified miscreants in the French capital Paris, leaving Bangladeshis residing there panicked.

The killers were yet to be identified as of Saturday evening. Police said that the victim's body bore bruises.

Bangla Tribune reported that Abul Khair Chowdhury, the victim, had been missing since May 23.

His family said that the expatriate came to France from Portugal and he was about to return home in a few days.

Enayet Hossain, a Paris-based Bangladeshi journalist, said that Khair's body was found in a jungle of Paris on May 26.

The journalist said his colleagues and the Bangladeshi community in France were planning protests over the incident.

The latest killing comes almost one year after the murder of a Bangladeshi named Sohel Rana in France.

He was beaten to death by a group of miscreants in Paris in late May last year. This sparked massive protests by Bangladeshi expatriates in France.
