Sustha Jeevan Foundation formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club on Sunday demanding reserved seats for transgenders in the national parliament.

The human chain was organized by Global Affairs Canada and supported by the Manusher Jonno Foundation.

Speakers said that Sustha Jeevan has been working since 2000 to ensure socio-economic development, legal aid, human rights and participation of all levels of society for the neglected transgender community.

Its multi-dimensional activities will contribute to achieving its desired goals in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Speakers said in today's time, transgenders have a lot of positive reception, but it is not at the desired level.

They added that it is not possible to implement all national development plans without transgenders participating at the policy making level.

They hoped to get cooperation and full support from the government to take part in the parliament through this mass rally.
