Mizanur Rahaman, who came under the limelight after inviting the Wasa chief to drink tea prepared with murky water, has reportedly been picked up by law enforcers.
The activist was picked up by some people in police uniforms from near Bikrampur Plaza in Jurain around 11am on Thursday, according to media reports.
His wife Shamim Hasem Khuki told the media that the family members called his number several times but he has not responded.
However, Syampur police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mofizul Islam said that he learned that detectives held him for questioning.
He added that Mizanur was picked up in connection with the recent mob attack on the traffic sergeant in Jurain.
"He is a suspected instigator," he said.
Meanwhile, Detective Branch Wari Division Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Hossain told Bangla Tribune that they have not picked up anyone named Mizanur Rahman.
However, another source at the DB said that he was brought in for questioning but it cannot yet be said if he will be arrested.
