Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed her party leaders and activists to move cautiously on the day of the inauguration of the Padma Bridge.
The ruling party chief gave this instruction to her colleagues through text message on Wednesday, Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam revealed in a party meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
Mirza Azam said: “The prime minister has sent a message for all of you. I am reading it out. Sheikh Hasina said everyone should be careful. Cars should not overtake. Volunteers should be active. A conspiracy is ongoing, and an accident can destroy happiness. You have to be careful.”
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, other central leaders of the Awami League and the members of Parliaments of southern districts were present in the meeting.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Padma Bridge on June 25.
Later, Awami League will hold a public rally at the Kanthalbari edge of Padma Bridge. In addition to cultural events, there will be various events throughout the day.
