The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has detained a government official while he was allegedly receiving a bribe in Dinajpur.
Mostafizur Rahman, deputy inspector general of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, was held on Wednesday while receiving the bribe.
According to sources, Mostafizur demanded a bribe of Tk80,000 from an organization called Ishan Agro Food for the renewal of its licence.
Upon receiving the information, an ACC team led by Md Ahsanul Kabir Palash under the supervision of Deputy Director Md Moazzem Hossain caught Mostafizur in the act with the money.
