Update : 10 Apr 2022, 01:22 PM

The minimum level of Fitra to be paid this year has been set at Tk75 while the maximum amount remains Tk2,310.

The National Committee on Fitra on Saturday set the donation rate at a meeting presided over by President Hafez Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin, the Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The Fitra or Zakat-al-Fitr is a compulsory charity to be paid for by Muslims at the end of Ramadan.

As per Islamic ruling, the Fitra has been set based on the market prices of wheat, flour, barley raisin, dates and cheese.

One can give Fitra by giving 1.65kg high-quality wheat or flour, or 3.3 kgs of dates, raisins, cheese, or barley, to the ones in need.
