An on-duty member of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has reportedly been killed as a result of a bullet shooting off from his own gun in Dhaka.

The incident took place at the RAB headquarters in the capital’s Kurmitola at around 2:30 pm on Monday, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, spokesperson for the RAB's media wing, told Dhaka Tribune.

However, it could not be confirmed whether the death was an accident or a suicide.
