The National Zoo has opened its gates to visitors after a five-month closure due to Covid-19 pandemic. Visitors thronged to the popular weekend outing spot, located in Dhaka’s Mirpur on Friday. The zoo over an area of 186 acres houses 135 species of animals. There are currently a total number of 3,150 animals, which was 2,740 just six months ago — a significant increase due to the Covid-19 closure.
