Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed returned to Dhaka on Thursday after his official visit to Turkey.
The army chief met Turkey's President of Defense Industries Ismail Demer and Deputy Minister of National Defense Muhsin Dere during the meeting, said a Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
The top Turkish government officials assured full cooperation with Bangladesh, including those involving military equipment.
General Shafiuddin later visited the International Defense Fair-2021, according to the ISPR statement.
During his visit in Turkish capital Ankara, the army chief visited the graveyard and museum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and paid homage at his memorial.
He also met with Commander General Musa Avsever, chief of Turkish land forces and General Yasar Guler, chief of Turkish general staff during his Ankara stay.
They discussed issues of mutual interest between Turkey and the Bangladesh army with talks focused on possible areas of defence cooperation between the two countries including training exchanges.
Apart from meeting several important officials of the Turkish army, General Shafiuddin also inspected the operation control room of Turkish Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), Army Aviation Headquarters and Turkish Air Spaces Industry.
