The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has decided to resume flights on seven domestic routes from Thursday till July 23 while strictly following health guidelines.
Meanwhile, the local airways have said they have no plans to increase the number of flights on domestic routes ahead of Eid-ul-Azha in the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, the government decided to lift the ongoing strict lockdown for nine days for the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.
However, after the holidays, a strict two-week lockdown will be enforced from July 23 to August 5 with a new set of restrictions.
As per government directives, CAAB will also suspend flights from July 23 to August 5.
Currently three local airways have plans in place on scheduling flights from July 15.
The national carrier flag will operate three flights each to Chittagong and Syedpur, two each to Cox's Bazar, Jessore and Sylhet and one each to Rajshahi and Barisal, CAAB said in a statement.

Biman spokesperson Tahera Khondokar said after fixing the flights schedule the authorities would decide if they wanted to increase the number of flights depending on the situation and demand.
US-Bangla General Manager (Public Relations) Kamrul Islam said the airline would operate five daily flights from Dhaka to Chittagong, two flights to Cox's Bazar, seven to Saidpur, six to Jessore, and four each to Sylhet, Barisal, and Rajshahi.
He also said at present the airline had no plans to increase flights but it depended on passenger demand and CAAB decisions.
The private airline NovoAir said in a statement it would operate six daily flights each to Chittagong, Saidpur and Jashore, four to Barisal, three each to Sylhet and Rajshahi, and two to Cox's Bazar. It too did not plan to increase flights before Eid, said the statement.
