The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in close coordination with the Government of Bangladesh, facilitated the return of 17 Bangladeshi migrants from Tunisia.

The flight carrying the migrants left Tunisia on Wednesday and landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shajalal International Airport (HSIA) on Thursday, according to the IOM Dhaka office.

The migrants were rescued from the Mediterranean. They had health checks before returning to Bangladesh, and IOM provided them with food, lodging, pre-departure transportation support, counseling services, and protection screening, as well as arranging for their return trip.
