Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has asked motorbike riders not carry any passengers during the upcoming nationwide strict lockdown from Thursday.
The decision was disclosed in a notification issued on Monday.
According to the notice, only motorbike riders will be allowed to travel the roads amid the lockdown, and they must do so without carrying passengers as it increases the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
People can use rickshaws to attend to emergency needs during the lockdown, the notification said.
