Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country in 24-hour till 9am on Saturday,” said a Met Office bulletin issued on Friday morning.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6am on Friday was recorded 105mm at Sitakunda in Chittagong division.
Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 34.7 °C at Srimangal in Sylhet division and minimum temperature on Friday was 23.2°C at Jessore in Khulna division.
Friday’s sunset in Dhaka at 6:48pm and Saturday’s sunrise will be at 5:12am.
