The per capita income of Bangladesh now stands at $2,227 which was $2,064 in 2019-20 fiscal year.
In FY2005-2006 the per capita income was $543. The poverty rate has reduced almost 50% in the last 15 years.
In FY2005-2006 the poverty rate was 41.5% and now it has come down to 20.5%, according to the proposed budget for 2021-2022 fiscal year.

Foreign exchange reserve also crossed $44 billion which was just $0.744 billion in FY2005-2006.
Life Expectancy also increased and reached 72.6 years, lwhich was 65.4 in FY2005-2006.
