The government has transferred Health Services Division Secretary Md Abdul Mannan to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute with the same post.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the fresh order in a gazette notification on Sunday, just a few days after Mannan tested positive for Covid-19.
Mannan was appointed Health Services Division secretary in June last year, when the country was witnessing a surge of coronavirus cases and deaths.

According to the fresh order, Lokman Hossain Mia, who was the secretary to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, will take charge as the secretary of the Health Services Division.

Lokman is taking the charge at a time when the country is again recording a spike in Covid-19 cases and fatalities.
The government also transferred Md Mokabbir Hossain, chairman (secretary) of the Land Appeal Board at Land Ministry, to the Security Services Division at the Home Ministry.
The orders will come into effect immediately, the gazette said.
