A book titled, "The Historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: A World Documentary Heritage," was revealed at the Unesco headquarters on Friday.
According to a media statement, special statements by Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Education Minister Dipu Moni are included inside the book.
In his opening speech, Bangladesh Ambassador to Paris and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to Unesco Kazi Imtiaz honoured the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He added that the famous March 7 speech by Bangabandhu provided motivation and inspired many people during the nine month long war.
He also thanked the ambassadors and representatives of all the countries who were present at the event.
Ambassadors and representatives from Australia, England, France, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Spain, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Mauritania, Kuwait, Russia, China and Bangladesh who speak English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Chinese revealed the book at the event on Saturday, according to the media statement.
Unesco included the famous speech in the Memory of the World International Register, a list of the world's most prestigious and important documentary heritage in 2017.
According to the Unesco, the speech constitutes "a faithful documentation of how the failure of post-colonial nation-states to develop inclusive, democratic society alienates their population belonging to different ethnic, cultural, linguistic or religious groups."
