BGB Day observed

The director general calls upon his force to always strive to fulfil any responsibility entrusted by the government

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday observed its founding anniversary through different programs at its Pilkhana headquarters as well as its all battalions across the country.

BGB Director General Maj Gen Md Shafeenul Islam officially hoisted the regimental flag at 9am and laid a floral wreath at "Simanto Gourab" at 9:15am, paying respect to the Liberation War martyrs, said a press release.

As part of the celebrations, a special Darbar was held at 10:00 am where the BGB director general called upon his force to always strive to fulfil any responsibility entrusted to it by the government in the days to come with utmost honesty, dedication, and self-confidence, with the highest priority on the health of BGB members amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At the end of the Darbar, the rank badges of those promoted from honorary subedar major to honorary assistant director and honorary assistant director to honorary deputy director were worn.

On the occasion, cakes were cut and banquets were held at all offices concerned of the border frontier. After Maghrib prayers, special prayers were offered at all BGB mosques following hygiene rules.
