Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continues to have a good relationship with Islamic scholars and experts in Bangladesh, State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan said on Monday.
Any falling-out between the Islamic scholars and the government can be resolved through discussion, and this must be ensured for the greater good of the country, he added.
The state minister made the comments while speaking to the madrasa students and Islamic scholars in Jamalpur.
Faridul also said hard-line politics do more harm than good for a country.
"Everyone must be vigilant so that no one can disturb the peace in the country with extremism. Real Islamic scholars never support fanaticism," he added.
On December 5, Faridul said the ongoing debates around sculptures would be resolved within a week.
