New PSO adorned with Lieutenant General rank badge

At the badge-adorning ceremony, the PM wished the new PSO’s success in discharging his duties

Newly appointed Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division Waker-uz-Zaman has been adorned with the rank badge of lieutenant general.

Navy Chief Admiral Shaheen Iqbal and Chief of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Mashihuzzaman Serniabat adorned the rank badge to Lieutenant General Waker-uz-Zaman in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a ceremony at her official residence Ganabhaban on Monday, reports UNB.

At the badge-adorning ceremony, the prime minister wished the new PSO’s success in discharging his duties and assured him of extending all sorts of cooperation to this end, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS.

Prime Minister’s Security Affairs Adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique and Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Naquib Ahmed Chowdhury were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the government promoted secretary to the Army Headquarters Waker-uz-Zaman to lieutenant general from major general and appointed him as the principal staff officer at the Armed Forces Division.

His appointment to the new post came into effect from Monday as his predecessor, Lieutenant General Mahfzur Rahman, retired from the post.
