Retail super shop chain Shwapno has said it will sell potatoes at Tk30 per kilogram and onions at Tk75 per kg to give relief to the customers while the prices of the kitchen items are high.
The customers can purchase the items from its various outlets from Tuesday.
Mahadi Faisal, Shwapno's head of business, said consumers can buy potatoes and onions for a maximum of two kilograms if they buy other products worth Tk300 minimum.
"The condition has been applied so that hoarders cannot purchase the items to sell those again," he said.
"This offer is valid until the stock runs out. Customers can place their orders on our e-commerce site [shwapno.com]."
The prices of potatoes have gone up recently alongside those of onion. Defying the government's fixed rate of Tk30 per kg, traders are selling potatoes at higher rates in the kitchen markets of the capital.
