Turkey will repair a Bangladesh Navy vessel damaged by the huge explosion at the port of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Turkish Embassy in Bangladesh has said.
“Turkey will repair the damages of the Bangladeshi vessel. It will be taken to a port in Turkey,” Gizem Aydin Erdem, press counsellor of the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka told Dhaka Tribune on Sunday
As asked when the repairing will begin, she would not specify any date, saying, “I cannot exactly tell you the date right now. But, I can say to you that it will happen soon.”

“BNS BIJOY of the Bangladesh Navy, which was damaged in the Beirut explosion, is being towed to Turkey by TCG İNEBOLU. The necessary repairs to BNS BIJOY will be carried out at the facilities of the Turkish Navy,” said the Turkish defence ministry in a tweet.
When contacted, an official of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “I will come back to you after talking to Bangladesh Navy.”

On August 4, a horrific explosion at a warehouse in the port of Beirut killed more than 160 people, injured more than 6,000 people and left more than 300,000 homeless.
The blast partially damaged BNS Bijoy, which patrolled Lebanese waters as part of the UN peacekeeping operation Maritime Task Force.
Five Bangladeshi nationals were killed and more than 100, including 21 members of Bangladesh Navy, injured in the explosions.
