Health Minister Zahid Maleque said that the new director general (DG) for the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will be appointed after consultation with the prime minister.
“Abul Kalam Azad has submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Public Administration. After getting clearance, we will talk to the prime minister to appoint a new DG for the DGHS,” the minister said at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
The minister also said a task force has been formed at the ministry to provide better health services.
Regarding coronavirus vaccine, health minister said: “We are contacting the vaccine companies, we will take the vaccine which is better suited for us.”
