The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized Regent Group Chairman Md Shahed's passport and computer from the Regent Hospital.
A raid was conducted at the hospital’s Uttara branch on Saturday upon information gleaned from Shahed’s associate Tariqul Islam, said RAB’s Legal and Media wing Deputy Director Sujoy Sarkar.
The passport and the computer was found at the hospital’s kitchen, according to the senior RAB officer.
Shahed is now being hounded by law-enforcement agencies after it emerged that his hospitals swindled thousands of unsuspecting patients out of millions on the pretext of coronavirus treatment.
RAB has already sealed off the headquarters and two branches of Regent Hospital in Dhaka. It also started a case against 17 people, including Shahed, on charges of issuing fake COVID-19 test reports and other irregularities.
