The government has appointed Mahbub Hassan Saleh, currently serving as the Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC, as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to Belgium.
Ambassador-designate Saleh is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Service cadre, reports UNB.
In his 24-year long distinguished diplomatic career, Saleh has served in various capacities in Bangladesh missions in Kolkata, Seoul, and Canberra.
Saleh has also served as the Deputy High Commissioner in Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
At the headquarters, he worked in various capacities in different wings.
Ambassador-designate Saleh has represented Bangladesh in several international forums.
Saleh obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), and master’s degree in diplomacy and trade from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, winning the award for top graduating student in 2001.
Saleh is also a well-known public speaker and poet.
