As many as 415 Bangladesh nationals, stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to travel restrictions enforced amidst the coronavirus pandemic, have returned home.
A special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, carrying the passengers from Dubai, landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 4:15am on Monday.
Tahera Khandaker, deputy general manager (Public Relations) of the airline, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
On June 25 and June 26, two separate chartered flights from Abu Dhabi, carrying 243 and 264 Bangladeshis respectively, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, an airport health official said all of the returnees underwent thermal scanning at the airport.
“After proper screenings, all the returnees were allowed to leave for their homes,” said the official.
