Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet divisions as well as the regions of Kishoreganj, Sandwip, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Feni, Hatiya, Rajshahi, and Pabna says the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The heatwave may continue further, said the bulletin published by met office on Monday, reports BSS.
In a weather forecast message, the met office also said rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and the region of Comilla.
Weather may remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 37.4 °C at Jessore on Sunday while the lowest temperature on Monday was 20.5 °C at Chuadanga.
The highest rainfall for the last 24-hours till 6am on Monday was recorded 42 millimetres at Syedpur, Nilphamari.
The sunsets at 6:32pm today and rises at 5:17am tomorrow in the capital.
