Former MP Asaduzzaman passes away

The prime minister and the president mourned the death of the former lawmaker

Former finance secretary of the Mujibnagar government during the country’s Liberation War in 1971 and former Awami League parliament member Khandaker Asaduzzaman has passed away.

He breathed his last on Saturday at his home, said a press release signed by Awami League Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua.

The former lawmaker was 87 years old at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, son, two daughters, relatives, and countless well-wishers.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the former parliamentarian.

In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

President Abdul Hamid, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, and Planning Minister M A Mannan also mourned Asaduzzaman’s death, reports BSS.
