30 judges home quarantined

They went to Australia to attend a training session

Thirty lower court judges have been directed to stay in home quarantine to stem coronavirus spread.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Public Relations Officer Dr Reazul Karim confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

"On February 29, the judges departed from Hazrat Shajalal International Airport to attend a training session in Australia and came back to Bangladesh on March 15," he said.

A total of 11 people have been infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh till date, of whom three have already recovered.

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed 16 people have been placed under isolation while 43 people were under institutional quarantine and till now 277 people in Bangladesh underwent testing for novel coronavirus Covid-19.

Covid-19, a new strain of coronavirus, has killed over 7,800 people around the world.

As of now, over 199,000 people have been infected by the strain, which spread from China’s Wuhan city at the end of December 2019.
