Another 217 Bangladeshi workers have been deported to the country by Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
A Saudi Airlines flight carrying 103 workers landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:20pm on Wednesday while another flight with 114 more workers landed at 1:10am on Thursday.
With this more than 2,500 Bangladeshi workers were sent back from the middle east country in the last three weeks, reports UNB.
Brac Migration Program with collaboration of Expatriate Welfare Desk provided necessary aid to the returnees.
Brac Migration Program Chief Shariful Hasan said many of the deportees were lured to the Middle East country with promises of good jobs and better lives.
“Almost all of them returned home empty handed,” he added.
