Two new Bangladesh Navy warships -- "Omar Faruk" and "Abu Ubaidah" -- have arrived at Mongla Naval Jetty in Bagerhat.
Khulna Naval Zone Commander Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa welcomed the China made ships as the chief guest on Thursday.
High officials and a large number of sailors from Bangladesh Navy were present on the occasion, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
Each of the ship is 112 metres in length and 12.4 metres in width, and can sail at a speed of 24 nautical miles per hour.
On December 18, 2019, China officially handed over the warships to Bangladesh Navy at a shipyard in Shanghai, China.
