PM: Govt officials being given facilities for Bangladesh's development

Government increased salaries and allowances, and enhanced various facilities for public servants

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government is providing all sorts of facilities to public servants for the sake of Bangladesh’s development.

"We are arranging every sort of facility for them just for one reason: development of the country," she said on Monday, reported UNB.

The prime minister said this while inaugurating new buildings for ministries, senior secretaries, secretaries and grade 1 employees of the government from Eskaton Garden area in Dhaka.

The Housing and Public Works Ministry and Rajdhani Unnyan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) constructed the buildings in different parts of the city.

Sheikh Hasina said the government has increased salaries and allowances, and enhanced various facilities for public servants.

"We have arranged loans for them to purchase flats; we have arranged a system so that they can buy vehicles; we have arranged various facilities for them from all aspects," she said.

Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim and secretary M Shahidullah Khandaker also spoke on the occasion.

There are 1,671 flats under seven projects for the ministries, senior secretaries, secretaries and grade 1 employees of the government.
