Eight Indian cyclists have come to Bangladesh on a journey to spread Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore’s message on humanity.
The group reached Dhaka on Saturday, and will stay for seven days.
They also intend to pay tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his grave in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
Ashok Kumar Sarkar, a member of the team, told UNB that their plans include: spreading messages of good will, visiting souvenir shops, raising awareness about planting trees to combat global warming, campaigning against child marriage, and preaching the love of Bengali language and culture.
The group is to hold meetings with different quarters to exchange views, Ashok added.
Meanwhile, Benapole Sargam Music Academy President Mostafiz Selim said such a trip to express solidarity strengthens the friendship between the people of two countries and inspires people to help save the environment.
