According to an official handout, the Minister for Religious Affairs Principal M Motiur Rahman formally inaugurated the hajj registration activities at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Dhaka and said registration would continue till February 21.
This year, a total of 1, 17,758 people will register their names under private management. Some 1,118 hajj agencies are working to reach the target. Each agency can register a maximum of 150 people.
The government has already been registering hajj pilgrims since January 20.
A total of 10,000 people will register their names for hajj under the government management this year, the release said.
