State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu has said RMG factory owners have been asked to pay Eid bonuses to their workers by June 14.
"We have asked the factory owners to pay wages for May to their workers in the first week of the next month, and Eid bonuses by June 14," he said while speaking to reporters after a meeting on “Crisis Management of Garments” at his office on Tuesday.
The state minister also asked security forces to remain alert so that the workers can go home safely.
Representatives from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) were present at the meeting.
