Three drug dealers have been detained in two separate drives with yaba and heroin, in Gaibandha district.
The detainees are Sirajiul Islam alias Likhon, 40, son of Khairul Enam of Fakirpara area of Gaibandha, Najmul Sarker, 22, son of Ruhul Amin of Jhalingi village under Palashbari upazila and Najmul Pramanik, 20, son of Akbar Ali of Paikpara area under Sadullapur upazila.
Gaibandha Detective Branch (DB) of Police Officer-in-Charge AKM Mehedi Hasan said: “We conducted a drive on DB road and detained drug dealer Sirajul with 550 pieces of yaba and 45 grams of heroin Monday night.
“He was detained while selling the drugs in front of North Bengal Hotel.”
He said: “Later on the same night, Najmul Sarker and Najmul Pramanik were held near Dholbhanga Bridge with 350 pieces of yaba and 25 grams of heroin.”
Two cases have been filed against the criminals under the Drug Control Act, he added.
The officer also said Sirajul is accused in three drug related cases while Najmul is accused in two such cases.
