The holy Shab-e-Meraj will be observed across the country Saturday night with due religious solemnity.
On the 27th night of Rajab, the seventh month in the Islamic calendar, Muslims observe Shab-e-Meraj, the night when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) embarked on a special journey to meet the Almighty.
In the journey, the Prophet travelled on the "Buraq," a heavenly steed, to the heavens where the Almighty gave him instructions to take back to the faithful regarding the details of prayers.
Devotees offer special prayers all night on Shab-e-Meraj - the Night of the Journey - to seek divine blessings for the welfare of the entire nation and the Muslim ummah.
Different Islamic organizations in the country will arrange special prayers and milad mahfils in mosques and other places on the occasion.
