Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader expressed his shock at the sudden death of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s mother Fatima Amin.
In a statement, Obaidul, also the road transport and bridges minister, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
He also called on Mirza Fakhrul's mobile phone around 12:50pm and expressed sorrow at his mother's passing, UNB reported.
Fatima Amin passed away around 12pm while undergoing treatment at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in Dhaka, said BNP chairperson's media wing official Shairul Kabir Khan.
She was 87.
