Four cases have been filed at the Shahbagh police station over incidents that took place in the Dhaka University area during the quota reform protests. Shahbah police Officer-in-Charge Abul Hasan said four cases were filed on Wednesday night over the incidents in the Dhaka University area in the last few days. Dhaka University Chief Security Officer SM Kamrul Hasan filed a case against unknown persons for vandalism and attack on the vice-chancellor's residence. Two cases were filed by Inspector Humayun Kabir of the Special Branch against unknown persons for vandalizing his motorcycle. Two sub-inspectors of the station filed a case against unknown persons for obstruction of police work and arson. Students and job seekers began protesting against the quota system, demanding a reform, in mid-February. A road blockade that began at Shahbagh on Sunday evening turned violent after a police crackdown, and demonstrations escalated in the last three days.
