Three people were killed and eight others injured in road accidents in Dhaka and Rangpur on Sunday.
In Rangpur, a Thakurgaon-bound Himel Paribahan bus from Dhaka hit a roadside tree in Islampur on the Rangpur-Bogra highway in Mithapukur upazila around 6:30am while giving side to another vehicle, leaving two people dead on the spot and seven others injured.
Identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, said Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Mithapukur police station
Meanwhile in the capital city, a man was killed and another injured as a speedy car hit a rickshaw in the Science Laboratory area around 12:30am, said Sub-inspector Jasim Uddin of Dhanmondi Model police station.
The deceased was Md Alamgir, 40, hailing from Nalchity upazila in Jhalokathi.
The injured was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
