The honours second year student of International Relations at Dhaka University had not just been excelling in academic arena, but she had an impressive command of extracurricular pursuits.
Doctors found out last December that Proma had non-Hodgkins lymphoma, which manifested itself on the left side of her throat.
She had meanwhile been operated on at a hospital in Dhaka. As her condition began deteriorating, she was admitted to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India.
With her cancer at the second stage, Proma, an ex-student of St Francis Xavier’s Girls High School and Holy Cross College, needs immediate treatment that will cost around Tk50 lakh. But, for her father who is striving to make their ends meet with his small earnings, it is too difficult to adequately care for her.
Having exhausted all the savings he has had, the helpless father is now requesting the kind-hearted individuals to lend their generous hands to help save his daughter’s life.
Anyone wishing to help Proma can donate funds to her father Samarendra Roy, A/C No: 02434009634, Standard Bank, Ekoria Branch, Keraniganj.
