Three organizations supporting the United People’s Democratic Font (UPDF) on Wednesday protested against the arrest of UPDF Bandarban district coordinator Chhoton Kanti and demanded his release .
Under the banners of Pahari Chhatra Parishad, Gonotantrik Jubo Forum, Hill Women’s Foundation, processions were carried out at 3.30pm.
The protests were held at the same venue after the procession. Manik Chakma, member, and Amal Tripura, general secretary of Khagrachari district unit of Gonotrantik Jubo Forum, spoke at the protest convened by Hill Women's Federation Khagrachari branch President Ditiya Chakma.
The speakers claimed that UPDF Bandarban coordinator Chhoton Kanti Tanchagaya was arrested in connection with UDFF organizer Mithuun Chakma's memorial meeting in Bandarban on Wednesday.
Law enforcers arrested the UDPDF organizer from Balaghata Bandarban the previous night.
